When the other person is speaking to you, you immediately interrupt because you don’t want to listen to every detail. It’s like you are looking for other answers. But, a wise person knows how to listen carefully.
I was talking on the phone with someone and she was trying to help to find other solutions on how to pay for the bill. When I immediately thanked her and hang up the phone because what she was saying was not the answer I was looking for. However, as I was thinking about the problem, her idea about paying using a note was the right solution until I interrupted her and closed the conversation. The lesson I learned here is to make sure you listen to everything unless you are in a hurry.
Listening skills are essential to solve any problems. Do not be in a hurry and just take it slowly and ask the right questions.
11 “But my people stubbornly refused to listen. They closed their minds 12 and made their hearts as hard as rock. Because they would not listen to the teaching which I sent through the prophets who lived long ago, I became very angry. 13 Because they did not listen when I spoke, I did not answer when they prayed. 14 Like a storm I swept them away to live in foreign countries. This good land was left a desolate place, with no one living in it.”
