Idols

Idolatry:

— an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.

Worship:

— To worship is to show a lot of love and adoration for something.

How do you show your love with something?

1. You can’t live without it.

2. You spend most of your time with it.

3. You work hard for it.

4. You’ll fight for it.

Sounds familiar? Is there an idol in your life? I know a lot of people will get upset over this because it’s true. Our phones have become the center of our lives, and we are spoiling our children for this. We don’t have time anymore to even pray for a few minutes because we can’t wait to reach for our phones!

People tend to abuse something that is too much of a good thing. I don’t hate technology. On the contrary, I am an I.T. guy in the family. Sometimes, I often wonder if technology is becoming my idol. So, I just turn it off for a while and walk away. When there is something that I get obsessed over, I just shut it off in my life and turn away. I remind myself daily that God is my “idol.”
