Canceled Flights

There are thousands of flight cancelations across Europe, and it’s becoming a serious crisis. One advice I could give is do your vacation in winter season. By that time, you’ll have money reserved for your vacation, avoid the chaos in airports, and the harsh, cold winter.

Another suggestion is to travel by train. When my family and I toured Europe, we rode a train going to Germany. I can remember that I hardly got some sleep because my back hurts, but we got to our destination early.

What to do during summer when the weather is so hot? Go to office and work because there is air-conditioning. Your company could save electricity when many people are there rather than working inside your house. But, how about covid? Pray and have faith. Read Psalm 91, and claim it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.

He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.

Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”

Psalm 91

Therefore, love the LORD with all your heart, all your mind, with all your soul, and all your strength. Be obedient to His voice, listen only to Him. Amen.

Winter Vacation And Work From Home

Winter Vacation And Work From Home

I saw an article about Greece trying to woo French people to go to their place during the winter. We know the energy crunch that is happening around the world, and we must ask God for wisdom.

People go to places with cooler climate during summer vacation. So, why not go to warmer places during winter? Since we are working at home with our laptops, we can work anywhere we are, even in remote areas. The digitalization of this modern world has made work possible in the office or outside. Because of this challenging times, we seek out solutions in order to make life’s burdens lighter.

Of course, we need some requirements in order for this to work: High-speed Internet access, security (physical or virtual), and an electric AC outlet.

High-speed Internet depends of course from the provider you choose. So, you must check its reliability at the place of where you are living.

Security for your expensive laptops and phones should be prioritized. You must have a backup of every files you have in the cloud, in case it got stolen. This becomes serious when important files from your company suddenly got stolen. Maybe, you should enable two-factor authentication when using cloud services. It is also a must to install the best antivirus software, and a trusted VPN provider. Please talk with your IT department before doing things like these, and ask their phone numbers in case something bad happens. Write this down on pen and paper.

Electric outlets are quite easy when indoors, but outdoors you must have battery packs which extends the laptop’s charge. Please pick the best brand you can or buy it from a trusted source because lithium ion batteries can explode if manufactured defectively. Do not place it inside your cars for long periods of time because of high temperature. Please read the safety manual for more details.

Going to a winter vacation is a good solution to save electricity rather use expensive heaters throughout the winter season. You might also visit a long time friend or relative for you to stay and save money for rent. You might want to invite them later to your house during their vacation.

These are some of the tips I know that will make your work a lot easier. In times like these, we need God for His wisdom and mercies as we do our work of love for others.

More Boats For Travel

“The Lord said to Noah, “Go into the boat with your whole family; I have found that you are the only one in all the world who does what is right.”

Genesis 7:1

There is a current fuel crisis plaguing the whole Earth because of the war in Ukraine. We must save gasoline for winter. There are airport strikes in Germany, France, and other parts of the world because of rising fuel prices. God impressed on me, in order to conserve fuel we must use boats instead of airplanes.

There are different kinds of boats for different uses. There are boats that can accommodate tens of thousands of people on one boat that go to different parts of the world. That is why it is more cost-effective than airplanes, but slower.

Everyday, there are thousands of container ships that cross the oceans. Therefore, it is not something new, for boats to travel in different places. We just have to adjust to a slower pace of life, in order to save more fuel.

If only they could make electric boats?

Preserve Food

“Everyone will be purified by fire as a sacrifice is purified by salt.”

Mark 9:49

This one is an old technology that works. Nowadays, we have an electricity problem because we are running out of fuel. So, the only way to have fuel for the winter, we have to conserve electricity.

The solution is to use salt to preserve food.

We all know this, but have forgotten because of our reliance on refrigeration over the years. God has pointed me to this verse to help others who are experiencing blackouts and food waste.

Together in Christ, we can solve any problem that we are facing. For, the Lord Jesus will never forsake us nor abandon us. I pray that God will give us more faith to overcome any obstacle in life. In God, everything is possible!

Power

God’s kingdom isn’t just a
lot of words. It is power.
1 Corinthians 4:20

Our country is having a power crisis at the moment, for we lack funds to build a new power plant. It’s always the lack of funding these days because of this pandemic. We preachers don’t lack words to say, and non-believers think we are just full of it. The truth is the heavens and the earth were created by God’s word. God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Worldly Wisdom

little owl bird nature
As God says in the Scriptures,
“I will destroy the wisdom
of all who claim
    to be wise.
I will confuse those
who think they know
    so much.”
1 Corinthians 1:19

We give medals and special awards to those who are wise. We give honor and respect to those who are learned, educated and those who received prestigious awards from distinguished and important people. However, this is not true wisdom. This is just worldly wisdom. True wisdom means living an upright life, free from guilt, having peace and sleeping soundly at night. Only God can give this wisdom and no one else.

Laws Of Physics

I was watching a lecture by Richard Feynman, a renowned scientist, and discovered that everything is irreversible. All atoms in the universe could only move forward and cannot be moved backward. It is the law of physics.

He later reiterated that in a film, you could play a movie in reverse, but in reality, it’s impossible to put every atom in reverse and turn back the clock so to speak. Again, you can only move forward not backward.

This made me ponder about what we do in life. That in every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, or you reap what you sow as told in the scriptures. That is God’s law. Therefore, in every action that we do, we must be careful. We don’t know everything, but only God is Omniscient. That’s why we can only rely on God in everything in every atom that causes our relationships with family, friends, and others.

Time is irreversible. We cannot undo our past mistakes. But, what we can do is ask God for repentance and let God fix the errors that we made. Yes, it is hard for someone to correct things that have happened. However, God is all Sovereign. If we don’t ask God then we don’t receive His correction.

“Do not deceive yourselves; no one makes a fool of God. You will reap exactly what you plant. If you plant in the field of your natural desires, from it you will gather the harvest of death; if you plant in the field of the Spirit, from the Spirit you will gather the harvest of eternal life. So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.”

Galatians 6:7-9

Recharge

Every gadget and every electronics today needs to recharge to have some use. Everything will just be like a dead paperweight if there is no juice left in it. People are just like that. If there is no energy then there is no use. We need to recharge.

After all the stresses of work and life, we need to unwind and take the time to thank God for every invention that we conceived. Worship is the charging cable of our lives. By giving praise to God, we are giving back the glory He deserves. And because of His undying love and compassion, He will give us the strength to glorify God more. Remember, it is about God and not about ourselves.

God is the source of life. Apart from God, we are nothing.

5 “I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me. 6 Whoever does not remain in me is thrown out like a branch and dries up; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, where they are burnt. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it. 8 My Father’s glory is shown by your bearing much fruit, and in this way, you become my disciples. 9 I love you just as the Father loves me; remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

John 15:5-10

Microwaves To Recycle Plastics

This is great news! Microwaves are known to heat our food in just seconds and using this same technology to recycle plastics is indeed good news.

What is a microwave? A microwave is a form of electromagnetic radiation that was accidentally discovered while inventing the radar by an engineer at Raytheon during World War 2. They call it the “Magnetron.” While improving on the radar technology, Percy Spencer, the engineer, reached out for his snack in his pocket to find that it has melted because of the magnetron. It resulted in our very own microwave ovens in our kitchens that even knows how to speak by Amazon’s Alexa.

The microwave makes the molecules vibrate so fast which produces heat. This cooks the food faster and it’s more economical.

History

History repeats itself IF we do not learn from it. We can learn everything from the past in order to have a brighter future. Just like what happened to Kodak.

The use of photographic film was pioneered by George Eastman who founded Kodak in the late 1800s. It was convenient at the time since it’s much easier to take pictures without knowing how to develop it as professional photographers do. It is photography for the rest of us and it became so popular that it brought him a fortune.

In 1975, Steven Sasson, an engineer at Kodak, first invented and built the self-contained electronic camera, which can take pictures without using a roll of film, but instead stores it in digital form just like in today’s digital cameras.

Kodak began to struggle financially in the late 1990s, as a result of the decline in sales of photographic film and its slowness in transitioning to digital photography (source: Wikipedia). It’s quite ironic since they invented the first self-contained digital camera.

Therefore, what could we learn from this? We don’t want our inventions to fade into history. That’s why we have to be at the forefront of change, researching new technologies, and new processes and looking for innovative ideas. We should move forward, constantly evolving and constantly finding new ways to stay relevant in this ever-changing world. We don’t want history to repeat itself, right?

“’We are allowed to do anything,’ so they say. That is true, but not everything is good.”

1 Cor 23
