James 3:5
…Just think how large a forest can be set on fire by a tiny flame!
All it takes is a tiny flame to start a huge wildfire like what is happening in Canada today. This problem is really affecting the world because it causes global warming and climate change. It is also the cause for poor air quality and sicknesses. So, what must we do?
I prayed for wisdom, and God reminded me of a video game about firefighting called, “Fire Watch.” In the game, I saw a watch tower, which is also called, “lookout towers.” Lookout towers serves as a monitoring station to detect wildfires while it’s still small because it is easier to stop it.
I searched online and there are Lookout towers in Canada, but it’s a measly 150+, and Canada is the second largest land mass in the world.
I hope that they will add more Lookout towers to prevent this huge disaster that is still happening right now! Not only in Canada, but also to places where wildfires are common. Praying that this will help us save our homes and our lives.
God’s Promise
21 But my Sovereign LORD, help me as you have promised,
and rescue me because of the goodness of your love.
22 I am poor and needy;
I am hurt to the depths of my heart.
23 Like an evening shadow I am about to vanish;
I am blown away like an insect.
24 My knees are weak from lack of food;
I am nothing but skin and bones.
25 When people see me, they laugh at me;
they shake their heads in scorn.
26 Help me, O LORD my God;
because of your constant love, save me!
27 Make my enemies know
that you are the one who saves me.
28 They may curse me, but you will bless me.
May my persecutors be defeated,
and may I, your servant, be glad.
29 May my enemies be covered with disgrace;
may they wear their shame like a robe.
30 I will give loud thanks to the LORD;
I will praise him in the assembly of the people,
31 because he defends the poor
and saves them from those who condemn them to death. Psalms 109:21-31
A New Source Of Energy Storage
NiMH batteries are less expensive than lithium-ion batteries and have higher capacity. NiMH batteries are less expensive than lithium-ion batteries because they are made of cheaper materials and have a simpler design. They are suitable for high-drain devices such as digital cameras, handheld GPS devices, wireless gaming systems, toys and more1.
Lithium-ion batteries are lighter, smaller and have more cycles and longer lifespan than NiMH batteries. They also do not have the memory effect and can recharge faster. They are ideal for portable and low-load devices and can tolerate a wider range of temperatures1. However, they are more expensive and have lower voltage output than NiMH batteries1.
NiMH batteries are considered safer than lithium-ion batteries because they contain less active material1. Li-ion batteries can explode if they are overcharged or short-circuited. NiMH batteries can pop if they are overcharged too much or short circuit, but this is nothing compared to a Li-ion, which can potentially blow up1. NiMH cells are better protected from thermal runaway than Lithium Ion.
So it depends on your needs. If you need a battery for high-drain devices then NiMH batteries might be a better choice for you. If you need a battery for portable or low-load devices then lithium-ion batteries might be a better choice for you.
You may want to check out the capabilities of NiMH batteries on Energizer’s link: Rechargeable Batteries | Energizer.
1 Capacity is measured in Milliamp Hours (mAh) – the higher the capacity, the longer the device will run.
2 Number of times a battery can be charged.
3 How long they hold their charge when not in use.

Does Grass Collect Water From The Atmosphere?
Bing Chat Answer:
Yes, some species of grass are capable of collecting water from the atmosphere. For example, desert grasses are known to collect water condensed from nighttime fog 1. They gather droplets from the air and filter them to roots or reservoirs, providing enough hydration to survive 1.
However, it is important to note that not all grasses have this ability. Additionally, the amount of water collected is usually not enough to sustain the plant for long periods of time.
Question:
Can Grass Grow In Drought?
Bing Chat Answer:
Yes, certain species of grass are better equipped to handle drought because of their native conditions and some grasses are improved cultivars, bred for their drought resistance 1. For example, in arid parts of the country or areas with water restrictions, drought-tolerant grasses are recommended for their ability to withstand extended periods without water
Question:
Does Planting Grass Help Prevent Extreme Drought?
Bing Chat Answer:
Planting grass can help prevent drought in some ways. Grass can help reduce soil erosion and runoff by absorbing water and holding soil in place 1. However, it is important to note that planting grass alone may not be enough to prevent extreme drought. Other factors such as climate change, water management policies, and land use changes can also contribute to drought 2.
In addition, it is important to choose the right type of grass for your area. Some grasses are more drought-tolerant than others. For example, Bermuda grass and buffalo grass are known for their drought tolerance
Conclusion:
By planting grass on dry lands, it will help moisten and collect water from the atmosphere, and therefore make weather cooler. And, preventing high temperatures within the surrounding area.
One More Thing!
Roads during summertime are like ovens. Maybe, we could put trees beside roads like this beautiful photo: 🙂

Using Bamboo As Construction Material
Bamboo is a durable and abundant material for construction of houses especially for low income countries:

This is a house built in Bali for tourism. Bamboo can be used for houses prone to flooding and earthquake since bamboo is flexible and strong. With some good designing and architecture, bamboo can become the new material for construction of houses, low-income schools, and temporary shelters.
Can Plastic Be Converted Back To Oil?
Bing Chat Answer: Yes, plastic can be converted back to oil through a process called pyrolysis. Pyrolysis utilizes high water temperatures and high reactor pressures to break down the plastic and convert it into fuels1.
When You Believe
A Cup Of Cold Water
Matthew 10:40:
“The person who welcomes you welcomes me, and the person who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.
Matthew 10:41:
The person who welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. The person who welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.
Matthew 10:42:
I can guarantee this truth: Whoever gives any of my humble followers a cup of cold water because that person is my disciple will certainly never lose his reward.”
If you are living in our country this summer, you know how valuable to drink a cup of cold water. What’s more when someone gave it to you, right? That person will have a reward for sure! And, the only way we could bring back that love is to say, “Thank you!”
Just the other day, I received an email regarding the famine because of drought in Somalia:
“In Somalia, the ICRC works with the Somali Red Crescent Society to help the victims of conflict and natural disaster. Severe drought has led to food insecurity in many areas of the country, making life almost impossible, and placing women and children in danger.”
Now that crops are not growing because of lack of water, Somalians are changing their trade from farming to fishing:
“The fishing industry in Somalia presents a viable alternative for many who have lost their livelihoods due to the prolonged drought in the country. The trade supports many including those who offload the catch from the boats and take them ashore.”
As I was writing this, I remembered that Peter was a fisherman by trade, but left everything to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It also mentions the miracle that happened when Peter can’t catch any fish:
Luke 5:4:
When he finished speaking, he told Simon, “Take the boat into deep water, and lower your nets to catch some fish.”
Luke 5:5:
Simon answered, “Teacher, we worked hard all night and caught nothing. But if you say so, I’ll lower the nets.”
Luke 5:6:
After the men had done this, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to tear.
Luke 5:7:
So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. Their partners came and filled both boats until the boats nearly sank.
Luke 5:8:
When Simon Peter saw this, he knelt in front of Jesus and said, “Leave me, Lord! I’m a sinful person!”
The blessing happened before Peter repented.
You will see here that without God, our work is fruitless no matter how hard we try. But, when the Lord Jesus intervened, blessings and miracles brought forth. Even if you have nothing like the disciples when they were sent, God provides! Even a cup of cold water becomes a wonderful miracle if you ask me.

As I was reading the article, I remembered that Peter in those days, fishing boats have sails to lessen reliance of rising fuel costs:
“We try to prop up already existing businesses to cushion them from the adverse effects of the drought and rising food and fuel costs,” explains Maslah Hassan who works for the ICRC’s livelihood programs in Lower Juba region.”
The Future Of Mass Transport Are Trucks
Nowadays, we are finding ways to save gasoline, and the most common gas consuming device for transportation are motorcycles, cars and buses. To save gasoline, you must transport more people in one go. Therefore, the solution must be bigger vehicles with bigger capacities for passengers. The solution must be less expensive and efficient. The solution is non other than trucks, large ten-wheeler trucks.
When you see a truck pass by, what do you see? Lots of cargo and goods being transported. But, what if you change the cargo container into seats for passengers instead of goods? Then, you could bring more people with less gas! All we have to do is convert the cargo space for passengers, similar to trains because of its large capacities.
I believe this is a viable and economical way to save petrol in order for people to move faster and safely. Trucks could be the better way to move people in another location with less cost because of higher savings. Now, in order to achieve this we need designers and engineers to design trucks for passengers.
Praise God!
Words Of Encouragement
Words Of Encouragement
Hebrews 6:9:
Dear friends, even though we say these things, we are still convinced that better things are in store for you and that they will save you.
Hebrews 6:10:
God is fair. He won’t forget what you’ve done or the love you’ve shown for him. You helped his holy people, and you continue to help them.
Hebrews 6:11:
We want each of you to prove that you’re working hard so that you will remain confident until the end.
Hebrews 6:12:
Then, instead of being lazy, you will imitate those who are receiving the promises through faith and patience.
Hebrews 6:13:
God made a promise to Abraham. Since he had no one greater on whom to base his oath, he based it on himself.
Hebrews 6:14:
He said, “I will certainly bless you and give you many descendants.”
Hebrews 6:15:
So Abraham received what God promised because he waited patiently for it.
Hebrews 6:16:
When people take oaths, they base their oaths on someone greater than themselves. Their oaths guarantee what they say and end all arguments.
Hebrews 6:17:
God wouldn’t change his plan. He wanted to make this perfectly clear to those who would receive his promise, so he took an oath.
Hebrews 6:18:
God did this so that we would be encouraged. God cannot lie when he takes an oath or makes a promise. These two things can never be changed. Those of us who have taken refuge in him hold on to the confidence we have been given.
Hebrews 6:19:
We have this confidence as a sure and strong anchor for our lives. This confidence goes into the holy place behind the curtain
Hebrews 6:20:
where Jesus went before us on our behalf. He has become the chief priest forever in the way Melchizedek was a priest.
When God makes a promise, He fulfills it. When God’s promises are not yet fulfilled in our lives, just be patient like Abraham. We can be sure as Christians that God will make it happen because He doesn’t lie. I am also waiting patiently of His promise to me, and I am faithful because God is faithful. We must be concerned of what to do right now, this day and do His will. “One day at a time,” I used to say. Before you know it, God’s promise has come to pass, and we praise Him with songs and a glorious celebration!
So, we can be confident in the Lord just like a boat anchored by the sea. No matter if there is a storm, our boat stays afloat because we are anchored in the Lord by faith.
Make sure that this day will glorify God, and please Him. One day at a time.
“So don’t ever worry about tomorrow. After all, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
(Matthew 6:34, GodsWord)
