Remember those days when we use CDRs and DVDRs for backing up our files? Because of the rise of ransomware, hard drive backups has led to encrypting our important files and rendering it useless. Backups nowadays are just like your internal drives, and it’s easy to write multiple times like a regular hard drive, and it has bigger capacity. The only problem is ransomware can encrypt the files on these external backups also, leading to data loss.

So, the idea is to use the good old tech backup like DVDRs. Yes, it’s lesser capacity, and it’s slower, but to backup important corporate files and data, it’s a sure choice because it can only be written once. This shortcoming of only be written once, is the advantage that can save your files and data from ransomware because it can’t be encrypted.

I think it’s better to make smaller DVDRs rather than the usual size we use before for mobility and storage even in smaller capacity, also for portability.

Another clear advantage is it lasts longer than regular hard drives. I still have my CDR backups for my music, and it still works after more than 20 years! Praise God!

We all know that salt absorbs water, and dries out everything it touches. Therefore, avoid going to beaches to avoid dehydration, especially drinking or eating food with too much salt. Plastic bottles are an ever increasing problem for our oceans. We are polluting and killing sea creatures, while we enjoy our seafood meals. Plastic when recycled, needs energy to melt it and form into a new bottle. This is costly to recycle than to make another from scratch. The idea is we could store the millions of tons of plastic bottles inside a warehouse if only we could make it small enough to store. So, we need to shred it to bits and put it on containers. We don’t need to recycle it immediately. Later, you can turn it to tables, chairs, smartphone casings using shredded plastic bottles and put glue.

We can utilize video conferencing to expedite the distribution of national IDs to the public. It’s like being there in front of the person who needs to verify the identity of the recipient. They could use the front facing camera to get your photo for the ID using live streaming. I was reading a book talking about how their place got flooded because the river cannot carry the rainwater fast enough to make the level of water low. So, the idea is to put large underwater fan in the river to make the flow of water faster, and flood waters will drain faster. I’m not talking about fans for ventilation, what I mean is fans under the water, placed stationary to speed up the flow of water. If you are depending on gravity, then it’s too slow for the water to drain because you are relying only on gravity, and the downpour which make the water rise fast per minute. Therefore, we might put fans that can push the water out and into the river, and the river with these fans, would push the water out to the sea. Praise God!

Canceled Flights

There are thousands of flight cancelations across Europe, and it’s becoming a serious crisis. One advice I could give is do your vacation in winter season. By that time, you’ll have money reserved for your vacation, avoid the chaos in airports, and the harsh, cold winter.

Another suggestion is to travel by train. When my family and I toured Europe, we rode a train going to Germany. I can remember that I hardly got some sleep because my back hurts, but we got to our destination early.

What to do during summer when the weather is so hot? Go to office and work because there is air-conditioning. Your company could save electricity when many people are there rather than working inside your house. But, how about covid? Pray and have faith. Read Psalm 91, and claim it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The pandemic has made a tectonic shift from face to face to digitization of selling products and services. Everything from work from home, groceries, even buying houses and cars. The only problem with buying online is that the person buying needs to be verified. So, they employed solutions like getting photos of IDs, to verify his/her identity. However, this is cumbersome and can be faked.

There might be an easier and more secured solution, and that is the utilization of video chat. Using real-time chat with the person buying is much sure as confirming the identity of both the buyer and seller. I saw one time, when I was buying a battery pack for my phone, the boy is talking with his employer and guiding him what the right product to buy using video chat in real-time.

Going forward, maybe we could also save the video chat for future reference if something failed, like for verification in banks and warranties.

I personally think that this is underutilized this form of technology. We must try to think improvements like a text chat ticker on the video, or maybe language translation in real-time for international communications.

Heat Feet

I walked for more than 15 hours when I left my house before the volcano erupted (All praises to God). I can distinctly remember the time when my foot started to hurt, and I removed my slippers and walked bare footed. The road was so hot that it’s burning my feet like hell, and I immediately sat on the ground and put on my slippers.

Today, as I was reading the news (at my parent’s house), it says that there is a heatwave going on in Europe. Temperature is reaching fever level at 45 degree Celsius! Then, I realized that what’s making urban areas so hot is because of roads. The heat from our roads is making our place so hot because of this.

As I was reading the Bible, I came across a verse about locusts eating the grass as God’s punishment. It later dawned on me that grass could make the Earth cooler. I remember that every morning, you could see morning dew forms on grass that makes cooler air because of water droplets. Logic dictates that putting grass on side-walks could make urban areas cooler because of the morning dew that are collected by the grass.

I hope this solution can solve the problem of heatwaves that are plaguing the world that even many people died because of this. I couldn’t stress so much for its importance. Praise God!
